Through a series of contrasts with the claims of the false teachers, John points us to the cleansing of the blood of Jesus. The false teachers claim they have no sin and have simultaneously rejected fellowship with the church. True Christians who walk in the Light of Christ embrace fellowship with other believers. As this happens, the blood of Jesus continually cleanses from all sin. Christ’s work of redemption was done once for all.
