It Is Finished. (John 19:30) (Good Friday)
Scripture: John 19:30
The Gospel of John shows God’s purposes being fulfilled through the sending of His Son, Jesus Christ. Terminology in John from the Greek shows the idea of purpose. On the cross, God’s loving purpose is being fulfilled as the sinless One dies for the sins of the world. John tells us that Jesus “handed over” his Spirit to the Father. The irony here is that the same word from the Greek was used for His enemies handing Him over. Here we find that Christ had all things under control. We need to believe the gospel and find salvation.
