Baptized Gentiles and the Body of Christ (Acts 11:1-18)

October 1, 2017 Speaker: Bob DeWaay Series: Acts of the Apostles

Scripture: Acts 11:1-18

The fact that the Lord accepted God-fearing Gentiles by giving them the Holy Spirit as evidence that they were converted convinced Peter that they should be baptized. He would have to convince the other apostles that this was the right thing to do. In this class we discuss baptism and various issues and controversies that often surround it. This includes baptismal formulas, who did the baptizing, who should be baptized, false cults and their baptism ideas, and many other important matters. Valid faith for those who are baptized is faith in God, trusting Him alone through Christ alone. The passage in Mark where someone said, “Lord I believe, help my unbelief” is an expression of true, saving faith. This class featured a robust discussion from many people.
