He identifies themes in the book: We can trust in the promises of God, even in the midst of difficult circumstances which seem to be going from bad to worse./The reversal of the situations of the wicked and the godly./The concept of the mishteh - the banquet which results in the godly being exalted and the wicked being brought low./There is no conflict between being a follower of God and vigorously defending ourselves when assaulted.
