How Greek Textual Issues are Decided
December 19, 2018 Speaker: Dana Burkinshaw
This class covers the basic ways that Greek scholars decide on the best and most likely original Biblical text. Examples of variants are discussed to help the students see how it similar looking and sounding words in the Greek can yield English translations that are quite different. Often the longer reading is the least likely one. Dana shows passages that vary and which English translations used which variant. He also discusses some issues about the KJV only debate that will be covered more fully in a later session.
