Old Testament Survey Genesis 12-50
Dana Burkinshaw continues with his survey of the books of the Bible. He begins by examining the FLIGHT characteristics of Genesis: Facts – Landmarks – Itinerary – Gospel – History – Travel Tips. This section of Genesis tells the stories of four great men: Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph. Dana relates their stories in terms of their ages when various important events happened in their lives and in terms of their geographical journeys. Two Bible geography controversies are dealt with: the location of Ur and the location of Sodom and Gomorrah. Dana then shows how Joseph was a type of Christ. He concludes with an explanation of the puzzling incident involving Jacob’s goat breeding and of the seemingly incongruous story of Judah and his daughter-in-law Tamar.
